The EPA Science Centre is a modern accommodation complex owned by Lincoln College. The EPA Centre is centrally located in the historic city of Oxford, and warmly welcomes guests during the summer vacation.
The Centre is located across the road from the popular Pitt Rivers Museum. The University Parks are also a 5 minute walk away.
All bedrooms are ensuite, and come equipped with bed linen, towels, tea- and coffee-making facilities and access to the internet (with an Ethernet cable). There is a Lodge on site; this is staffed 24 hours a day for added security.
History to the present day
EPA are the initials of Sir Edward Penley Abraham, one of the pioneers of biomedical research. He developed the class of antibiotics known as cephalosporins, used amongst other things in the fight against diphtheria and typhoid fever. Unlike Florey, he was able to patent his cephalosporin and the money generated through royalties was used to form the Edward Abraham Fund. Lincoln College has benefited from the EPA Trust with the provision of a new accommodation and conferencing complex, named the Lincoln EPA Science Centre. The accommodation is located within a row of Victorian terraces on Museum Road; these were converted to student halls of residence between 2003 and 2006.
Lincoln College itself is located on Turl Street. It was founded in 1427 by Richard Fleming, the Bishop of Lincoln. It was named after his Cathedral as "The College of the Blessed Mary and All Saints". Lincoln is among the oldest of the Turl Street Colleges, and one of the least spoilt legacies of the Middle Ages. According to Nikolaus Pevsner, Lincoln College "preserves more of the character of a 15th-century College than any other in Oxford".
Guests of the EPA Science Centre are welcome to visit Lincoln College between the hours of 2pm and 5pm daily.

Ms Susan Tibbles, November 2011: Excellent. Very nice gardens
Miss Alexandra Badke, September 2011: Very good alternative to pricey hotel accomodation. Quiet but central location.
Dr Markus Steiner, September 2011: happy to use again, very friendly and helpful staff, and the shower failure was sorted quickly the same day. Many thanks
Prof Christopher Rennix, September 2011: College lodgings are typically spartan and these were no exception. The room was spacious, the en suite very clean and functional, and the breakfast sufficient to start the day. The porters were extremely nice and helpful.
Mrs Barbara Keller, August 2011: I enjoyed it to stay in the city of Oxford. The room was clean and enough for me. I would have liked to see the news on televisoin. That was not possible. As I dont understand, what you mean with overall..., I cant say anything about it.
thanks
barbara Keller
